Bhisho - A woman and her daughter were raped in their home in Magalakangqa village near Butterworth, Eastern Cape police said on Monday.

The 55-year-old mother and her daughter, who was four-months pregnant, were attacked in their home on Sunday evening, said Captain Jackson Manatha.

"The woman heard a window being broken and when she looked, she saw a man who told her to keep quiet," said Manatha.

The intruder threatened both women with a firearm warning them not to make any noise.

He then raped the two women before stealing money and a wallet.

Police have not yet made any arrests.
