Moodley to remain in custody

Johannesburg - The bail application of the man suspected of killing Johannesburg student Leigh Matthews was postponed indefinitely in the Wynberg regional court on Friday.
The case itself was postponed to December 3 for further investigation.
Donovan Moodley's bail application did not take place following the withdrawal of the services of his lawyer Louis Weinstein.
Proceedings began late as Weinstein got lost and had to phone the court for directions.
Moodley's new lawyer, Jonathan Minnie, told the court that the defence was not ready at this stage to apply for bail and would decide at a later stage when to do so.
Moodley has not yet pleaded to the four charges his faces. They are murder, kidnapping, extortion, and robbery with aggravating circumstances.
During the proceedings Moodley's family and friends sat in the front of the public gallery with Matthews' relatives and friends at the back and the press lining the walls.
Police were also present.
Moodley, from Alberton, was arrested on October 4. He was a student at Bond University in Sandton, the same institution that Matthews attended.
Matthews disappeared from outside the university on July 9 - the day before a party was to be held to celebrate her 21st birthday.
Her body was found 12 days later by a municipal worker cutting grass in Walkerville, south of Johannesburg. She had been shot.
