Pretoria - Two more bodies were discovered in a drainpipe on the Samrand road in Centurion on Saturday morning, bringing the total number of bodies found in the area to four, Pretoria police said.
Spokesperson Captain Piletji Sebola said a team of detectives made the discovery when they returned to the scene to search for possible clues.
The body of a young child was found by quad bikers on Friday afternoon, while the first body was discovered in a man-hole in the same area last week.
Sebola said the first body was found lying at the end of the drain-pipe, presumably after being swept there by water.
He said the circumstances in which all four bodies were found were similar, which suggested a possible link, and involvement of the same suspect or suspects.
However, he rejected speculation about the possible existence of a serial killer since the investigation was in its early stages.
The bodies and heads of all the victims were covered in plastic, but the cause of death in all the cases was still unknown, Sebola said.
"Post-mortems and forensic tests will be conducted to determine the time and cause of death."
Sebola said the identity of the victims was still unknown.
"Information pertaining to ages and gender of the bodies recently found will not be made public to protect the investigation under way. Our first priority is to identify the victims."
