Mother, daughter killed execution-style

Johannesburg - An elderly woman and her daughter were shot dead in their home in Nkqonkqweni in East London, police said on Monday.

Captain Mluleki Mbi said the 78-year-old woman and her 54-year-old daughter were both shot in the head on Sunday night.

"Five men entered the house and shot the old woman first and then the daughter."

Two boys aged 10 and 14, who are related to the women, witnessed the killings.

Mbi said the men ran away without taking anything from the house. No arrests had been made.

The motive for the murders was not known.
