Mother, teen killed in Free State crash

Johannesburg - A woman and her teenage son were killed when their car collided head-on with another on the N1 highway near Kroonstad, paramedics said on Saturday.

ER24 spokesperson Andre Visser said paramedics arrived to find the 15-year-old boy had been flung from the vehicle on impact and the mother was trapped in the wreckage on Friday.

They had died at the scene. A man believed to be the father and husband of the deceased, survived the accident.

Four people in the other vehicle who sustained various injuries, were treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.
