Losing control in a bend rarely happens when you stay within the speed limit.

Unless its been raining, or there was loose sand etc on the turn? I have personally fallen off my bike, going 60KM/H on a bend in a 120KM/H zone due to bad road conditions. (loose gravel)

Why are bike riders to negligent, my husband included. It is a vehicle, and a dangerous one at that too. If you cannot respect your machine, stay off it.

@Judy Send him off to a track school. He will learn a lot, and he will be out of your hair for a whole Saturday.

RIP. Condolences to those left behind. Gravel, oil, diesel spill on the bend?

Speed & inexperience does work against the rider, but gear will always improve your odds of standing up and getting back in the saddle. I wrote my bike off at 60 kmh, so do not assume the biker was speeding. Fixtures next to the road poses the greatest danger to the rider when falling.
