Johannesburg - A man handed himself to police on Wednesday after a motorist was beaten to death in Diepsloot, north of Johannesburg, Gauteng police said.

The 26-year-old man and a friend allegedly attacked the driver of a car when he knocked down three pedestrians on Sunday, Warrant Officer Daniel Mavimbela said.

"It is believed the man and his friend assaulted the motorist using their hands, feet, and other objects before fleeing the scene."

The pedestrians and the 51-year-old motorist were taken to a nearby hospital, where the man later died.

"The arrested man was charged with murder and malicious damage to property as the vehicle of the deceased had also been damaged during the assault.

"The man is expected to appear in court soon."

Police were still searching for the other man involved.

Good thing he handed himself in - I doubt the keystone cops would have stood chance in hell of catching him, And even if they did, the criminal would suddenly develop ear infection and be out on parole in 3 days or so!!

Nothing in our judgement system to help to stop these barbaric criminals from killing fellow citizens. They got no respect at all for human life or any life at all. \Bring back the death penalty\. Not just for murderers.. but also for rapists.
