Johannesburg - Three of the four men linked to the kidnapping of a man and the robbery of his family at a plot in Muldersdrift have been arrested, police said on Wednesday.

They were arrested in Diepsloot last Thursday after police obtained information that a withdrawal of more than R9 000 from a credit card stolen from the victims was processed at a pub in the area, said Lieutenant-Colonel Lungelo Dlamini.

"Further investigation led police to a suspect who was found in possession of a two door Pajero, possibly used when the victim was kidnapped on December 17," said Dlamini.

It was also established that the same vehicle was hijacked in Midrand in November 2012.

Two other men were also traced in the same area. The fourth man was still at large.

They appeared in the Krugersdorp Magistrate's Court to face charges of house robbery, kidnapping and theft on Monday.

They were remanded in custody and will re-appear on Thursday.

Two other men were arrested at Muldersdrift informal settlement last Friday after they were linked to the eight incident of violent crimes.

The men face charges of murder, attempted murder, business and house robberies and housebreaking. These crimes were committed between July and December 2012.

The latest incident was the scene of murder and attempted murder at Mageregere informal settlement, where two men were attacked and shot before they were robbed of their money.

One of the men died at the scene and the other was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

The two would be appearing in the Krugersdorp Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
