Johannesburg - A 92-year-old man has been found murdered in his home, with his feet burnt, in Setlopo village, Mahikeng, North West police said on Wednesday.

"According to information, the neighbour went to visit the deceased and noticed a broken window. She called his [the man's] child who entered the house through a window and saw the deceased lying dead," said police spokesperson Emelda Setlhako.

"The deceased was found naked [in] his bedroom. Half of his body was covered with a mattress and his feet were burnt and some ash was on the ground."

The man had been stabbed 12 times, and had other wounds on his head and left ear.

A knife was found at the scene.

"The suspects are unknown and still at large. Police investigations continue," said Setlhako.
