Mute girl, 14, raped at school

2012-06-08 14:21
Johannesburg - A 14-year-old mute school pupil was raped in Soweto, Gauteng police said on Friday.

Warrant Officer Kay Makhubele said the mute girl, from Sizwile School for the Deaf in Dobsonville, was raped by three males in the schoolyard on Thursday afternoon.

"A worker at the school informed the police after she saw this incident," Makhubele said.

It was not clear if the rapists attended the same school.

On the same day, three men in a taxi took a 20-year-old pupil to a house in Zondi, where they allegedly took turns to rape her the entire night.

He said one of these men may have been the pupil's ex-boyfriend.

No arrests were made, but investigations were continuing.
