N West mother, daughter killed

Johannesburg - North West police said on Sunday that a mother and her daughter had been shot and killed, allegedly by the daughter's boyfriend, in Lethabong near Rustenburg.
The 44-year-old mother and her daughter, 28, were at home when the man broke in around 03:00 on Saturday, said spokesperson Amanda Funani.
The daughter had a protection order against the man.
A quarrel ensued.
The man, 30, took out a firearm and allegedly shot his girlfriend in the stomach and chest.
When the mother tried to intervene he shot her three times, twice in the chest and once in the chin.
A case of murder and possession of unlicensed firearm was opened.
The killer was still at large.
