Johannesburg - Police were still searching on Wednesday for the killers of a Lenasia community leader.
"We are doing our best in terms of this investigation," Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said.
He said the police were following up information received.
Molana Iqbal Hassan, the imam of the Masjid Siddique, a mosque in Lenasia Extension 10, was stabbed to death by robbers who broke into his house on Sunday.
Makhubela said the four robbers placed Hassan, his wife and their children in separate rooms.
"They demanded money and other things. They stabbed the man in the head and took some of the electrical appliances from the house."
The other members of the family were not injured.
