National blood stock low

2011-09-22 21:46

Johannesburg - The SA National Blood Service urged people on Thursday to donate blood, saying its stock was running low.

The blood stockpile was sitting at a reserve of 2.6 days, instead of the five days required, spokesperson Marelda Sibanyoni said.

People wanting to donate should be between the age of 16 and 65, weigh more than 50kg, be in good health and live a sexually safe lifestyle.

Ive been trying to donate blood for a while now, but Im deeply disappointed with the SA Blood service website. Absolutely no information re the western cape. Also, news24, publishing an article like this would have been MUCH more helpful IF YOU HAD INCLUDED SOME INFO ON WHERE YOU CAN DONATE!

Have you even tried search for this, first result from google linked me to http://www.blood.org.za which has all the required information so I really don't see why you would want to go off here. Search used "blood donation western cape" aren't really that complex.
