Bloemfontein - Police are looking for a man who set fire to a house containing his wife and five other people in Thaba Nchu, near Bloemfontein, on Saturday night, Free State police reported on Monday.
Police inspector Harry Nagel said the woman ran over to her neighbours' house after she and her husband had a fight. Apparently he followed her and threatened to burn down the house.
The man went back to the house later that night and knocked on the door. The owner of the house said she smelled petrol fumes when she opened the door. The man then lit a match and threw it into the house.
Nagel said six people inside the house suffered burn wounds and were taken to hospital. There was approximately R12 000 worth of damage to the house.
Once the man is arrested, he will be charged with attempted murder and arson.
