New arrivals area for CT airport

2010-04-22 10:37
Cape Town - The new domestic arrivals area of Cape Town International Airport will be revealed to the public on Friday morning, a spokesperson said.

The current domestic arrivals entrance and exit doors would be closed when the last flight arrives on Thursday, said Airports Company SA (Acsa) communications manager Deidre Hendricks.

The new area includes a link that will direct passengers between domestic arrivals and the central terminal building, she said.

"The link routes airport users to the ground floor of the central terminal building, allowing them access to more retail and restaurant options and facilitating them to the Transport Plaza and the recently opened car rental facility.

"The pieces of the airport puzzle are coming together and we are seeing the final phases of construction come to completion," Hendricks said.

"Not only is there a brand new link to the central terminal building for domestic passengers, but the baggage hall has also been extended with an additional two baggage belts," she said.
