North West woman killed in farm attack

2012-08-13 14:42

Johannesburg - A woman died after she was shot and wounded on her farm in Witklip near Hartbeesfontein on Monday, North West police said.

She was about to leave when three men attacked her, Brigadier Thulani Ngubane said.

"She was shot in the cheek, arm, and breast before the men fled with her white Toyota Venture."

A passerby alerted the police. Paramedics rushed the woman, in her 30s, to a hospital. She died on arrival.

Police had launched a search for the killers.

BRING BACK THE DEATH PENALTY! Get rid of the inept rulers who cannot stop these brutal killings!!!!!!!

      sanda.mnyazi - 2012-08-13 15:00

I have no sympathy for people who rob, kill and assault others. I wish they get caught and put away for good.

      delish7564 - 2012-08-13 19:21

@Leonardb1 This also happened to me twice this morning on another article. I would love to have an explanation given that some extremely nasty and racist comments are allowed whereas mine commenting on the lady who submitted a petition against her attackers being paroled was removed - there was nothing offensive to anyone unless the attackers were reading the remarks and I only expressed an opinion that they should never be considered for parole!!!! Quite pathetic really given that we are supposed to have Freedom of Speech :(

      amanda.victor.92 - 2012-08-14 00:56

Another case of Boerephobia. Let's call this what it is. The slow-boil wiping out of the Boers. It's a genocide of a minority and no other country in the world would ignore it if so many of their farmers were being murdered so brutally. I guess the ANC has other priorities, like singing about killing the Boers and visiting colonised museums. I wonder if the 'moderators' will allow this comment? Hmmm....

      jacob.ndlovu.3 - 2012-08-14 03:48

I hate the ANC. They are useless incompetent scum destroyng this country.. I heard about the one with Owen Charles who was brutally stabbed in Jansenville, Easten Cape on his farm by a group of thugs. It will be in the PE Herald today.

      mihaip007 - 2012-08-14 09:40

and the colour? TYPICAL! No mention of coulour! But we all know the colour!

  • brett.bruce.121 - 2012-08-13 14:55

Another racist cowardly murder. Please do not call this a robbery. There is no reason to shoot a woman during a robbery. This is genocide.

  • jmsepmybr.zuma - 2012-08-13 14:57

Nothing to say but Death Penalty. What's so difficult about that ...f@ck!!!

  • jo.g.cronje - 2012-08-13 15:03

Well done. The ANC must be so proud of their propagating and approval of hate crime. This is what it is. Hate crime. Cold blood.

  • kooskanmar - 2012-08-13 15:14

Why the f$#k kill, when you only want to rob ? I mean three f&^%ng useless scum bags against one woman. Even if if she did resist, why kill her ?

  • comurray - 2012-08-13 15:27

As we don't have a democracy then the death penalty can be brought back however, if it was there would be no more living voters in favour of the ANC. So that would put paid to our biggest problem.

      brett.bruce.121 - 2012-08-13 15:55

jowza you are a real troll. A pathetic little person. Shame. Were you bullied at school?

I hate the ANC. They are useless incompetent scum destroyng this country.. Where was this other farm murder? I heard about the one with Owen Charles who was brutally stabbed in Jansenville, Easten Cape on his farm by a group of thugs. It will be in the PE Herald today.

What the hell is going on in RSA...So many murders, corruption, rape etc and nothing is done about it..Start chopping off the heads and this will come down to 1%...Pliz seperate these animals from human beings and isolate them. I'd love to have a crocodile farm in RSA and give these guys...All the money I make from selling the crocs goes to the cops who arrest, the judge who delivers the death sentence judgement and charity for the ophaned and abandoned kids....

      Communism.

      mihaip007 - 2012-08-14 11:29

IMPALE THEM - let them rot for 7 days in a slow and agonizing death! And put them in the middle of the bloddy hillbrow so they can hear their screams of pain! It worked in my country 500 years ago!

@tc: Please explain how Dr. Pieter Mulder is part of this?

  • Koos - 2012-08-13 15:39

Why farmers, kill politicians, kill lawyers but to kill those who feed the nation is just no right.

      tc.convulvulous - 2012-08-13 15:53

      Koos, they call it 'xenophobia'.

      brett.bruce.121 - 2012-08-13 15:58

Well, their leaders sing songs that encourage them to do it...

  • Gavin - 2012-08-13 15:43

Dear JZ - WHEN THE F_CK ARE YOU GOING TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS SITUATION ? How many people must die before you pull your head out of your ass ? There is a war raging in your country - and I'm not talking about the ANC's war on honesty.

      lacrimose.wolf - 2012-08-13 21:45

Sorry the President can't take your call right now. He is busy addressing the very urgent issue of de-colonising museums and all the ministers are out shopping at take-away outlets for replacements. Please do not concern yourself, South Africa is safe. Thank you for calling.

      mihaip007 - 2012-08-14 11:31

wait - we are worried about the 10 cops a day that are being killed! well if THEY worry about that what should WE unarmed citizens do about these crimes?

  • charmaine.hoffmann.1 - 2012-08-13 15:46

Please...everyone...lets not forget that our "presidant" has more imporntant things to worry about than another farm murder...Museums are much more important and needs to get priority!!!

      carolyn.dewrance - 2012-08-13 18:44

And how many more babies he can father.

  • Dimitri - 2012-08-13 15:59

But to put it into perspective, more blacks are murdered by this SCUM than whites, that just a FACT and i doubt they care about your race, they just kill. so please, stop racialising this barbaric act, those criminals were just out to steal and kill, they wouldn't have spared her even if she were black!

      isabella.olivier - 2012-08-13 16:15

Dimitri please google Genocide watch and read about SA. This is about race!

      Dimitri - 2012-08-13 16:23

And what about the hundreds blacks that get killed? don't be naive!!

      Armand - 2012-08-13 16:25

Dimitri. You chose a very unsavory alias?

      surita.coetzer - 2012-08-13 16:30

Ag why dont you shut up you dont know nothing !!!!They are killed by their own not by white's or white farmers they are baberians!!!

      Bruce - 2012-08-13 19:45

White farmers have got this victimhood mentality its sickening..many more blacks die as a result of crime too, period! As for @surita.coetzer, your ignorance is only surpassed by your dismal command of the english language. My grade 10 english teacher, a delightful afrikaaner woman, I may add. Taught me that using double negatives like 'don't and nothing' in a sentence actually means the opposite of what you are trying to say but I take it you were too busy being dismissive of anything outside your realm of your comprehension.

      mark.page.923171 - 2012-08-14 00:47

Bruce, let's test YOUR command of the English language. Define the words childish and arrogant. Surita made a valid point, and your response is to attack her grammar. Farmers have a victim mentality? Are you for real? You obviously live in a dream world mister Shakespeare. Arrogant people like you really make me sick. Please grow up and stop dismissing the pain our farmers have to endure, with your proverbial mouth full of food. Our farmers are being targeted, we don't need to argue the fact. We need to stand together as a nation and help them.

      mark.page.923171 - 2012-08-14 00:50

Oh.. and for the record Bruce, it is "Afrikaner", not "Afrikaaner".

      timmy.ditsele - 2012-08-14 07:41

@mark.page i lik the fact that you said "Our farmers are being targeted, we don't need to argue the fact. We need to stand together as a nation and help them"Hope in a hpeless world.

      audrey.lang.10 - 2012-08-14 07:41

Hey Bruce, how about using capital letters..........it is English, not english, right? And it's Grade ten, not grade ten. Not that I care about these small matters, but you seem to......otherwise you wouldn't have attacked Surita about it. Your use of commas also need some attention. "My Grade ten English teacher, a delightful Afrikaner woman I may add, taught me......." I count 5 mistakes. I guess you also have a "dismal command of the English language".

  • ethanhawk385 - 2012-08-13 16:15

    And the Genocide continues !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • surita.coetzer - 2012-08-13 16:18

Now what do you call this a accident nothing to do with rasism !!!So strange how quickly everbody scream when something like this happens to a other race but just this weekend 4 farm murders and no but no fuss about that. Disgrace!!!!!!!!

  • JHLR73 - 2012-08-13 16:24

@ Leonardb1- SPOT ON my friend- Nobody could have said it better!! On top of that, most murderers of a certain majority group gets bail while there crimes are swept under the carpet and hardly mentioned, while perpetrators of the minority race, do not get bail and a big fuss is made. It amazes me!!! It should tell us something..

  • Desilusionada - 2012-08-13 16:30

@ROHIN "There are millions of black people that are just as angered and appalled by any kind of heartless attacks on any human life." I usually try to keep to the rules and moderate my posts, but while I am sitting here crying: YOU ARE TALKING CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If they were angered and appalled, why p1ss about with a little riot here and there (instigated by the ANC in the Western Cape anyhow) about "service delivery". Why are they not making the country ungovernable until the senseless killings (of all races) stop?? Obviously the death of an old white woman on a farm nogal, is less important than politics....

      rohin.jadin - 2012-08-13 17:03

if they didn't give a crap why are there incidents of mob justice when someone is raped, murdered, robbed from in their communities? my comment was directed at christopher.saint.3386 - who chose to incite more hatred and make a generalization that has no basis. the fact is that we have extreme violence in this country - and it's a sick diseased mind that perpetrates it, and these violence acts are unleashed upon black, white and everything shade inbetween.

  • bobo.jane.1 - 2012-08-13 17:00

Xenophobia,Arabphobia,Muslimphobia etc....etc...Why not call this Boerephobia and pass this through SA law with the death penalty ?

  • comrade.shefu - 2012-08-13 17:09

Stop all that blame game.Who said the killers are BLACKS,COLOUREDS or WHITES. A killer is a killer nomatter what colour race, religion or political party they belong to.Two white men recently killed probably a coloured muslim guy for absolutely no reason!

  • bradktm - 2012-08-13 17:33

Why can we, as a country, of all races not stand together and in one voice shout out to Government - Enough is fu$king enough already. If we all stand together against the government in power, and demand results they will have to listen. Never before has this been done, and thus, the countries downfall is looming. It is up to us to rectify the situation and tell the government how we want to be governed, how we want to live, how we want to be respected. If we could take all our racist energy (black and white alike)and channel it towards government, we will get the required results. If we don't act now we can kiss this country, that is already on its knees, - Goodbye. I'm really thinking about quing to purchase my airticket.

      timmy.ditsele - 2012-08-14 07:46

Dont run away. it will solve nothing, but you're suggesting a good solution.only if we can get out off our seats, instead of writting our anger, frustration on news24 we go out there were we are really needed and do something about it.

  • winifred.watson.9 - 2012-08-13 17:37

Another poor farmer and a woman to boot. Wonder if there will be an outcry I dont think so. Poor soul, may she come back to haunt the bastards till they die.

  • archangel.zerachiel - 2012-08-13 18:22

ronnie furgin kasfrills: why are you not commenting now, you sick f^&k?? Anybody wanting to deny that these useless wankers were black? Is that the reason there is so little response from the cANCer government drones? This because they CONDONE VIOLENCE AGAINST NON-BLACKS? This poor woman's death is on the cANCers CONCIENCE.

  • Vince.York - 2012-08-13 21:46

and the racist ANC in pursuing it's unwritten agenda, still do nothing about this genocide of it's most productive sector of the economy - NOR PROTECTS IT'S CITIZENS....NXA!!!!! Nathi Mthethwa = EPIC FAIL zuma lapdog

  • duncan.gill1 - 2012-08-13 22:33

One day is one day then all the chickens will come home to roost, can't say we never said so!Reading the views here tonight I can only think that nowhere else in the world do people comment like they do here on news articles..surely this should tell you something?

  • elsbeth.verhoeven - 2012-08-13 23:17

The killings will go on and on and on as the people in authority do not know how to deal with it. They just hope it will go away. They are just good in keeping the statistical record in order. Nothing has changed the last 18 years and it also will not until everyone says "we had it". We as citizens will have to mobilize and everyone must march up to the government offices and say we will not do any work until this problem is solved. Even if we camp out on their grounds for weeks we must just sit there and ask what are they going to do about the killings, the service delivery etc. We can also toy-toy. What can they do if a few million people do this at the same time? Just my thoughts.....Maybe I am naive, ah but so what!

  • mark.page.923171 - 2012-08-14 01:08

Just like so many white people disapproved of the apartheid system (the majority voted NO at the time), a little solidarity from our black brothers and sisters would go such a long way to support our farmers, and create a little goodwill. And also to help settle down the raw emotions. It is a fact that our farmers are being targeted, nobody can argue that. And by saying this I'm not implying that black people do not suffer at the hands of violent criminals.. not at all. But statistically, farmers are being wiped out at an alarming rate. This is a fact that is being recognised internationally. Our government will not help the farmers, they have proven over and over again that they have no compassion. It is time we all take hands and fight the evil in our country. I feel sorry for these criminals, they are lost, maybe for all eternity. But it a choice they make.

      timmy.ditsele - 2012-08-14 08:07

@mark.page. Please give me this opportunuty(spelling check) to voice my concern. We want to help as black people but what is going on in south africa is a disgrace.just read some of the comments made by readers and you begin to wonder if by helping you will be doing the right thing even though you will be helping some one who still thinks in terms of "us" and "them".What needs to be done is for us to unite and fight/dictate to the ANC goverment what we as south africans,(not blacks, white,or green) want from them. The onus is on us as law-abiding,tax-paying and hard-working citizens of the country to take our destiny into our hands withoutfear of minority or the majority.Until we realise that we want a common outcome black & white,no corruption in goverment, good governent,no nepotism, etc.we are all F*&^KED up as a nation and a country.

      Nicki.Labuschagne - 2012-08-14 09:54

@ Timmy - well said. Agreed 1OO percent.

  • jones.mkandawire - 2012-08-14 09:31

Firstly my heart felt condolences tothe family of the deceased on behalf of all good and compassionate black people (my family). Secondly its stupid and ridiculous for any person with reservations -racially,socially or politically - to use circumstances like this to grap about them. Grow up and know when and where its relevant to open your stinking mouths. Its sad you pretend to be sympathetic .

  • Nicki.Labuschagne - 2012-08-14 09:47

The reason for our Government's thunderous silence on yet another brutal, senseless murder of a farmer, and their inability to deal with this scourge is that they silently approve of it. They should be internationally sanctioned, in the same manner as Zimbabwe, to force them to take action. Unless something is done, there is no hope for a better future for anyone in SA, regardless of race. My condolences to the family, whose lives will never be the same - all for the sake of a vehicle which was abandoned shortly afterwards. This is NOT just a robbery - it was a hate crime. Wake up fellow South Africans of all races: show your humanity, support and help our farmers. STOP these murders!!!!!!

  • brytzishiri - 2012-08-14 10:23

Guys its very sad whats happening in this country, it can't be blamed on black people coz how come these type of violent crimes don't happen in other african countries (with black people) at the same rate. I believe the root coz of the problem is lack of education, because an educated person no matter how hard life becomes you would think of other means to survive than robbing and killing for two cents. Our society has made it acceptable for young kids to make decisions on whether to go to school or not, instead of it being compulsory. This country has the highest number of illiterate people in Africa hence it's the biggest economy !!!
