Johannesburg - A man accused of killing a 14-year-old boy in Vanderbijlpark was denied bail on Friday, police said.

Mario Engelbrecht, 20, would be back in the Vanderbijlpark Magistrate's Court on August 14, said Warrant Officer Kinnie Steyn.

Engelbrecht is accused of stabbing to death Dante Chang, believed to be the son of his father's girlfriend.

Chang's body was found on Tuesday afternoon, reportedly with a steak knife protruding from his chest, in the driveway of the alleged attacker's home.

His mother, Yolanda Coetzee, 37, found her dying son when she came to pick him up after a cricket practice.

No killer should ever be granted bail.
