Johannesburg - The presidency has granted Judge Fikile Bam a special official funeral, it was announced on Thursday.
The "Special Official Funeral Category II with Police Ceremonial Honours" is reserved for distinguished people, spokesperson Harold Maloka said.
"The presidency has also declared a period of national days of mourning as from Friday, 23 December 2011 until the evening of the burial or cremation."
The funeral will be held on Tuesday next week.
"All national flags will fly at half-mast at all flag stations in the country until the evening of burial or cremation," Maloka said.
The 74-year-old judge president of the Land Claims Court died in Milpark hospital in Johannesburg on Sunday morning.
