One dies in bakkie accident

Johannesburg - A vehicle accident has left one person dead and four others with serious injuries after the driver appears to have lost control of his bakkie on Edendale Road in Pietermaritzburg.

A spokesperson for ER24 said the driver had been approaching a garage along Edendale Road when the accident occurred.

The bakkie left the road, overturned and crashed through a property wall.

When ER24 paramedics arrived, they found that one of the passengers had died,  two others were in critical condition and had suffered multiple injuries, while the remaining two were in serious but stable condition.

The injured were taken to hospital.
