One killed in Free State car crash
Johannesburg - A man was killed and three people were seriously injured, including a 3-year-old boy, when their car collided head-on with a truck on the N3 near Warden in the Free State on Monday, paramedics said.
"Paramedics arrived at the scene to find that a man in the front seat of the car had been killed on impact. The driver and another woman, as well as the child, were all in a critical condition," Netcare 911 spokesperson Jeffrey Wicks said.
"The force of impact saw the articulated vehicle veer from the road and eventually come to rest in a field, while the car ground to a halt at the roadside."
The injured were taken to a private hospital in Bethlehem. Police were investigating.
