Cape Town – Only mourners using the City of Tshwane’s designated bus service will be allowed to view the body of former president Nelson Mandela.

EWN reporter Barry Bateman, tweeted a Tshwane communiqué stating that access to view the body will be restricted to people in city buses [only] and requests were made for mourners not to walk to the Union Buildings.

According to the City of Tshwane website an increase in private vehicles were anticipated in the area.

Three park-and-ride facilities have been activated: Tshwane Events Centre, LC de Villiers Sports Facility, and Fountains Valley.

Mandela will lie in state for the next three days at the Union Buildings.

Friends, colleagues, comrades and family of Nelson Mandela are invited to share their memories and tributes, and to light a candle for him, on his profile at Remembered.co.za.
