'Orania is going nude'

Orania - He's at it again - this time for "volk en vaderland", for buck-naked Whites only - and in Orania.
That's how South Africa's nudist king Beau Brummel explains his plan to open a nudist colony on a farm in the Afrikaner volkstaat.
"Tell everyone Orania's going nude. The nudist king is coming to town and I'll make them famous."
The nudist resort will open officially in three weeks' time. Until then, Beau's not keen to give the exact address.
He says: "I first want to speak to the dominee. But, I'll keep the media posted, and invite you to the opening, as long as it's a reporter who doesn't mind coming in his or her birthday suit."
Will restrict the resort
He wants the resort to be fully operational by 2010, as an added attraction for tourists planning to attend the World Cup Soccer tournament.
Beau says he doesn't think it's racist to restrict the resort to white visitors.
"It's difficult enough for people of different races to mix when they're fully clothed, so imagine the various races getting together in the nude?"
He thinks Orania is the perfect location, because only whites live there. He says a resident at Orania suggested the idea to him.
"I was at the farm last weekend and there were already about 10 people enjoying an all nude, open-air braai."
Beau said he was not afraid of opposition - from the townsfolk or anybody else.
"This old bare-ass really isn't afraid of anyone. I even invite the town's preachers to come and visit, provided they remember to bring their own suntan lotion."
Orania's residents seem to be less than enthusiastic about the new nudist farm.
Carel Boshoff IV, Northern Cape leader of the Freedom Front Plus and a leading resident in the town responded that it had to be a joke.
"We know nothing about this development and we haven't approved it.
"Brummel is cashing in on Orania's fame in order to plug his own interests.
'Sending out wrong message'
Boshoff said they had a problem with the idea because it could link Orania with racial tension.
"He's sending out the wrong message about what we are all about, which is just not true. We're more concerned about that than nudity."
On a lighter note, he wondered if Brummel realised how cold it could get at Orania.
