Johannesburg - Two men appeared in the Umzinto Magistrate's Court on Wednesday after 300 Mandrax tablets were allegedly found in their vehicle, KwaZulu-Natal police said.

Azaad Sheik, 30, and Iqbal Mohomed Sheik, 38, of Gandhinagar township in Umzinto were arrested on charges of dealing drugs when they were nabbed on Tuesday night, police spokesperson Jay Naicker said in a statement.

They were pulled over by two policemen - constables Samu Armstrong Ndovela and Bongani Chiliza of the Port Shepstone Tactical Response Team - whose suspicions they had roused while driving towards Riverside Park.

They were granted bail of R1 000 and the drugs would be sent for forensic analysis.
