Johannesburg - A paramedic was found dead in a house in Maroeladal, Randburg on Thursday after his employers reported him missing two days earlier.

Cornelius (Corrie) Croukamp, an ER24 transfer agent, was reported missing on Tuesday after colleagues noticed he hadn’t reported to work.

A search effort was launched after friends could not reach Croukamp on his mobile phone, while his neighbours in Bloubosrand, Randburg confirmed he was seen leaving his property in his car.

ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak confirmed on Thursday that Croukamp was found dead in Maroeladal in Randburg.

No details could be given regarding the manner in which Croukamp died, Vermaak told News24.

He did, however, confirm that Croukamp’s car was located outside the house first, which led them to his body. The residence was not his own.

News24 spoke to Randburg police station, but no further details could be given.

Police are investigating.
