Parents held for kid's murder

Johannesburg - The parents of a Soweto toddler have been taken in for questioning after the child was found covered in its own blood and with two stab wounds to the chest, police said on Sunday.
Captain Mbazima Shiburi said the father called police to the house just after 04:00, telling them his two-year-old son had been attacked.
When police arrived at the house, child was already dead. A bloodied knife was found nearby and confiscated.
Shiburi said the father claimed he had left the room he shared with the son for about half an hour.
When he returned, the boy had been attacked.
The mother was apparently not home at the time but was still out "partying", Shiburi added.
A murder docket has been opened.
