Parents see red over strippers

Middelburg - A father who hired strippers for his son's 16th birthday bash has got the town foaming at the mouth.

Frikkie Lutzkie is alleged to have hired three strippers to dance for the group of 15 to 20 boys at the party.

At one stage of the show, the girls were completely naked.

When the parents of some of the boys at the party heard about what had happened, they phoned Middelburg High School's headmaster to complain.

At first, headmaster Johan Stronkhorst thought they were joking.

"I thought it was someone pulling my leg. When I realised how serious it was, I was upset."

"I think it's unheard of."

Stronkhorst said five parents phoned him in connection with the party, which was held recently at Lutzkie's house.

'Belly-dancing show'

"Some of the parents were livid. They had had no idea (of what was going to happen at the party)."

Some of the boys apparently also drank alcohol at the party.

The boys apparently had agreed not to talk about the event to outsiders, and to refer to the strippers as a "belly-dancing show".

Stronkhorst said peer pressure seemed to have played a role.

"It's very difficult for a boy in such a situation, with 15 or 20 friends, to get up and walk out. A few were obviously ashamed to tell their parents."

The school could not do much about the situation, because it was a private event, said Stronkorst.

"We decided to speak to the pupils to make it clear that this (strippers at a teen party) was not the norm."

Lutzkie could not be reached for comment and did not answer his cellphone.

Nomfundo says... Now Nzimande wants the painting destroyed, he insists it must not leave the country. He is such a reactionary; @ 1st they were happy the painting was vandalised because they don't understand art and what artist really appreciate; now that they realise that the painting has so much history behind it which will generate more interest, they want it destroyed. How many electronic copies of that painting are doing rounds right now? Nzaimande, I think you have impressed Zuma enough, you will get a cabinet post again in the next corrupt and greedy ANC government so stop making a fool of yourself now, enough p-l-e-a-s-e!!
