Cape Town - Police have launched an investigation into the death of a boy whose body was found hanging in the hostel of a posh Cape Town school.
Ryan Taylor, 16, was found hanging outside a window on the second floor of Bishops school hostel in Rondebosch on Sunday afternoon.
Headmaster Grant Nupen said Ryan had left a note. His schoolmates last saw him alive about midday.
Ryan had been an only child and it was his second year at the school.
Nupen said Ryan had been counselled for his academic work and represented the school as a yachtsman. "The reason for his tragic death is under investigation and we do not want to speculate at this stage," Nupen said.
Ryan's parents live in Blouberg Strand and were attending a Christian camp when they received news of their son's death.
