Johannesburg - The parties involved in a transport dispute in Olievenhoutbosch, near Pretoria, are to meet following protests on Wednesday, Gauteng police said.

"The situation is calm. What's going to happen is there is going to be a meeting between the stakeholders, this being taxi drivers, bus services, metro police, Pretoria central cluster police, and community leadership," Lieutenant Colonel Tshisikhawe Ndou said.

"The situation has calmed down and police are monitoring," he said.

No one was injured in the protest.

The disagreement between taxi drivers and bus services began on Tuesday, and escalated on Wednesday morning "when passengers were removed from their [vehicles]", said Ndou.

Taxi drivers were reportedly unhappy about bus services operating in the area.
