Pastor arrested for raping girl, 14

2012-03-05 07:22

Johannesburg - A pastor was arrested in Dobsonville, Soweto on Sunday after he allegedly raped a 14-year-old girl, Gauteng police said.

Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said the 39-year-old pastor asked the girl to come to his home on Saturday to wash his clothes.

"She was wearing jeans, and he allegedly said that as a pastor he doesn't allow jeans, so he instructed her to take them off," he said.

"He then took her to his bedroom and allegedly raped her."

The pastor will appear in the Roodeport Magistrate's Court soon, Makhubela said.

There is no deterent in SA for rape and murder...come on , bring back the death penalty!!!

      Wt - 2012-03-05 14:27

Hope he gets life...in hell. But can a 14 year old be that naive? I’m sure at that age your suppose to know what is wrong and what is right.

      RealNikka - 2012-03-06 14:55

Mara this pastor with all the church offerings he gets weekly , you telling me he couldnt afford transport to hillbrow and buy a prostitute for R30 ..and transport cant be more than R50 smh

      Stephen - 2012-03-14 11:10

Wonder if Jesus told him to do it?

  • Sharon - 2012-03-05 07:36

What is it that makes a rapist rape? Do they not grasp the concept that it is wrong? Do they regard women as inferior beings that can be used and discarded when their urges are satisfied? Surely this man, of all men, should know better.

      Johan - 2012-03-05 08:05

Religion. It drives people to insanity. Preacing every day something that you know is a lie, always living with guilt - surely that must get to you eventually. That is why pastors (and their most devoted followers) are such nutcases.

      Caryn - 2012-03-05 08:58

our top man in government being our own President was accused of rape and our judicial system failed. When the top are amoung them, what hope do we have?

      Schmee - 2012-03-05 08:59

Leonard if castration stopped men from raping women then it would be a good idea. Unfortunately rape is fuelled by hatred and not lust. In studies in the US where they have used castration as a method to stop repeat offenders they found that about 12% of castrated rapists were caught again. Non-castrated rapists that were caught again were also 12%. Surgically removing the penis also did not stop them from raping again because they just started using other devices in order to hurt the women.

He doesn't allow jeans but he engages in rape? B@st@rd.

Apology to all South Africa for what happened to the young. May God pull her back together and strengthen her to move forward in life. May almighty God heal the scars cause by this incident and make her strong in every area of her life.Increase and Prosper

      MikeBrassellSA - 2012-03-05 08:07

Surely if there was a god, this wouldn't happen

      zwelidlams - 2012-03-05 08:26

@Kimsha, there is a GOD and He's Holy! And there's also satan with his evil ways. Sadly ppl choose to commit acts of evil designed by satan like rape. Those who trully (not who claim) believe in God and live a holy life don't commit rape or other acts of evil. The devil also makes ppl believe there's no God whilst lading them astray in the process. God wants ppl who are sinful to repent from their sins whilst the devil wants such ppl to continue living in sin. Ppl make their own choices, no one is forced to follow God that's why He'll judge them for sins committed but not repented from.

      fani.masemola1 - 2012-03-05 08:48

@zwelidlams I couldn't put it better. He is holy. I call him faithful, He is awesome God. Blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence. Keep up the holy message of the living God.

      ryno.rousseau - 2012-03-05 09:00

If God didn't do anything to start with, why would he do anything now?

      Johan - 2012-03-05 09:39

Janine, it is very simple. Humans and other animals have evolved the ability to heal themselves, both physically and mentally. So hopefully this poor girl will heal. But it also allows the religious folks to claim that it is their particular god that healed her. So it makes them feel better about the fact that their nonexistent god could not prevent the girl from being harmed in the first place.

      Ben - 2012-03-05 12:36

I think you're god did enough already..

      Lucia - 2012-03-05 13:39

Thankyou for the people who stand up for our God. I feel so sorry for the thumbs-down!! Please reconsider! If you get to know him better you will not blame him for all the bad doings. Instead, thank him for being blessed and pray that you will be in his Kingdom one day, which can be any day.

      Johan - 2012-03-05 14:26

Lucia, why are you "standing up" for your god? Can he not look after himself? Is he that powerless? God could not prevent this girl from being harmed, just like he cannot stop me posting this comment... So nobody is "blaming" god, because he does not actually exist. And no matter how many times you say to yourself "he does exist", it will not change the fact that he does not.

      Ben - 2012-03-05 15:00

He is one lucky god though...His followers will literally forgive him for anything. He's like a South African cricket captain...but the exact opposite... When something good happens he gets the praise. When something bad happens..he doesn't get mentioned or it gets blamed on something else..

      Lucia - 2012-03-06 08:38

Thanks Enock. Some of these forum writers are on their own Titanic. You remember that the Captain of the Titanic said that not even God can sink the ship!!! I feel actually sorry for the poor people who do not know God like I do... I am blessed!

      Johan - 2012-03-06 13:35

Lucia, so it was your god that killed all the people on the Titanic? Yet when a little girl gets raped he does nothing? What a wonderfull god this is... NOT! No, God cannot sink a ship just like he cannot save a little girl from getting harmed, simply because he does not actually exist. End of story.

      Lucia - 2012-03-06 14:00

Johan, you have so many answers to this!! There are so many theories of after death experiences. I am not going into that with you and actually wasting my time and feeding your so called ego (erase God out). There is a God! I know it, I feel it and not you or any other disbeliever will change my mind to this. I rest my case!

      Johan - 2012-03-06 16:38

Lucia, we live in a free country. If it makes you happy to believe in a god, then you can do that.

      Lucia - 2012-03-07 08:09

I really think you are a good person Johan, and I am sorry that you are not a believer. Somewhere along your life someone disappointed you and as a result thereof you lost your Christianity. Do not allow people to keep you away from our Creator. Someone created you!!!! And he loves you and today I feel to say to you that it is not to late Johan. Do not listen what people do or say, all are sinners.... listen to the good inside you and start your journey with your Creator. It is worthwhile.

      Martin - 2012-03-05 07:59

seen it all before, more than 10 times, pastors should be screened and put through psych evaluations and monitored monthly, there are too many dodge pastors, priests etc. more than there are good ones i bet

  • TheJaydedKing - 2012-03-05 07:53

He had intention all along. It was going to happen right from the moment he asked her to his house. Another shattered life at the hands of disgusting cretins, we have got to figure out a way to stop this. it simply cannot go on like this.

Religion is just a money making scheme for a few, who prey on the gullible.

  • Samukelisiwe Tana Shelembe - 2012-03-05 08:15

it seems like pastors these days are all about making money, generally just using people. they don't even know the meaning of christianity

  • Lionel - 2012-03-05 08:20

It's always the religious types who condemn the sexual practices of consenting adults, and yet amongst them lurk these evil types - the Sunday Tribune had an article on swinging, and guess who condemned it? This is the same bunch who condemn homosexuality and seek the death penalty in Uganda.

  • HiJack - 2012-03-05 08:28

    "Kultcha"

  • Thembelihle Derrick Shezi - 2012-03-05 08:31

This was not a pastor! He does not know the meaning of the name and the calling. He is an impostor and the Bible is full of warning against the such.

      Johan - 2012-03-05 10:53

So what are you saying? It is the girl's fault for not reading her bible? If she did she would have seen the warning about this "impostor"? Sorry Thembelihle, but this religion thing makes no sense.

  • Alex - 2012-03-05 09:03

Any PhD thesis out there on why man rape? It's high time we deal with this problem more creatively and differently. Slogans and catch phrases don't seem to be working at all.

  • linda.l.mndayi - 2012-03-05 11:11

Go to church so you can be enlightened. Utter nonsense

      Johan - 2012-03-05 11:35

You mean "brainwashed"? Go to church so you can be brainwashed? There the pastor will tell you that you are a worthless sinner. He will bring you down and make you dependent on him. He will control you and suck you dry for the rest of your life. He will take your money and use your children for his own sexual gratification. No thanks, Linda, I have been there. But I escaped. Now that I am free I am not going back there.

      MikeBrassellSA - 2012-03-05 11:43

Go to church????? I'm scared of the pastor.

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is God able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is God both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is God neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

      Phillip - 2012-03-05 13:16

Ben Clearly you do not understand God.

      Ben - 2012-03-05 13:33

      what's to understand?

      Lucia - 2012-03-05 13:56

Phillip, this poor guy won't listen. Clearly he is on his own. If you allow Him to live in you and through you, you won't make discusting comments like this.

      Siyabulela Lukwe - 2012-03-05 14:31

If you understood God, had a relationship with Him, you wouldn't feel the need to question Him. There aren't enough characters to try to adequately explain to you the nature and character of God so I suggest you read a Bible, attend a service at a good church. No one will brainwash or try to rape you, I promise.

      Ben - 2012-03-05 14:32

Alone? Not at all. Very happy and surrounded by loved ones...Thanks
