Johannesburg - An elderly woman and a man have been murdered inside the King Edward VIII Hospital in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Tuesday.
Police were informed about the murder of a 49-year-old man on Sunday, Lieutenant Colonel Vincent Mdunge said.
They found his body in the hospital with strangulation marks around the neck and several bruises.
A woman, whose age was not disclosed, was killed a few hours earlier in the same hospital.
"The two patients were apparently murdered, but I cannot provide further details."
The man had phoned his family to complain about bad treatment in the hospital a few days before he died, Mdunge said.
Two murder dockets were opened. Hospital management could not immediately be reached for comment.
