Johannesburg - A pedestrian died when he was knocked over by a silver Mercedes Benz in Alrode, south of Johannesburg on Thursday, Ekurhuleni metro police said.
The accident took place around 05:00.
"The man, in his 20s, was declared dead at the scene," Inspector Kobeli Mokheseng said. The 52-year-old Mercedes driver, who was alone in the vehicle, suffered slight injuries.
"A case of culpable homicide has been opened and the police are investigating the cause of the accident."
