Cape Town - National police commisioner Riah Phiyega said on Saturday that Czech fugitive and an associate were arrested in relation to an incident in June this year.

Phiyega, speaking at a briefing in Pretoria,  said that the men were arrested on charges relating to the kidnapping and assault (with intent to grievous bodily harm) of a South African man on the East Rand.

She declined to name either Krejcir's associate or the complainant in the case.

Phiyega said that Krejcir is currently being held in a secure location due to fears for his safety.

Krejcir's whereabouts will be revealed to his lawyers, but not made public.

His lawyers had obtained a court interdict in the early hours of the morning to force the police to reveal details of where he was being held.
