Pretoria - The head of the police’s psychological services, who had resigned, returned to her post a week later, but with a fraudulent doctor’s note and lied about her whereabouts, a report said on Thursday.

According to the Eyewitness News report, Brigadier Busi Buthelezi was able to return to the police because National Police Commissioner Riah Phiyega put her resignation on hold.

Buthelezi was apparently able to return to the police after getting an allegedly fraudulent doctor’s note from her brother-in-law.

The note states that a doctor had booked her off sick for a few days in early January but an Mpumalanga guesthouse owner places Buthelezi in Barberton that week.

The police did not comment on the matter.
