Johannesburg - Burn victim Pippie Kruger has been discharged
from hospital after an operation to remove scar tissue from underneath her left
arm, and is reportedly recovering well.
Beeld reported on Thursday that the 3-year-old underwent the
hour-long procedure at Johannesburg's Garden City hospital on Tuesday morning.
The scar tissue was hindering her
movement, but she has already been able to straighten her arms and is now trying
to touch everything, her mother Anice Kruger told the newspaper.
She added that Pippie's plastic surgeon, Dr Ridwan Mia, was
amazed at her progress. "He really did not expect her to move her arms so
soon after the operation."
Pippie has had over 45 operations since being badly burnt at
a braai nearly a year ago. She underwent a groundbreaking cloned skin
transplant in June, and has been making good progress since then.
"I can see Pippie has a lot pain but she hides it well.
She just wants love and attention," her mother told Beeld.
"I'm very proud of my little princess."
