Pippie's operation seemingly a success

2012-06-18 19:46

Johannesburg - The skin graft on 3-year-old Pippie Kruger seems to have been a success,  Dr Alan Barrett from Genzyme said on Monday night.

Pippie suffered severe burns to more than 80% of her body after an accident at a family braai on New Year’s Eve.

Barrett, speaking from the Garden City Clinic in Johannesburg, said the gauze had been removed from both her thighs “and came off easily”.

He said none of the grafted skin had been left behind as the gauze was removed.

Barrett said it was the first time anyone in the operating theatre had seen something like this.

"It was just awesome and everyone in the theatre started clapping hands."

The procedure to remove all the gauze was still underway on Monday evening.

There are people that say that God does not exist. Thank you God for this miracle.
