Popular church minister's wife murdered

2012-08-06 09:07

Johannesburg - The murder of a popular Odendaalsrus minister’s wife has shocked the small community in the Free State.

Johan Knoetze, 66, said when he unlocked the front door on Friday night at about 19:00, he felt an icy cold wind and started calling his wife’s name.

Knoetze found his wife’s shoes, with broken heels, lying in the passage and then saw her body, reported Volksblad.

Annette Knoetze, 64, had been stabbed in the chest and her wrists had been slashed. Knoetze said it looked like she had tried to fight back and reach the panic button.

Annette was popular and well-liked in the community. She was also the mother of three women in prominent legal positions in the Free State and North West.

Her husband was the head of the Afrikaner Church at Allanridge and said she had only recently turned to him in the car and said: “My dear, I love you so much, I hope we die together one day.

“As a Christian I know there where she is now, there is no trouble. She was a dear woman who wouldn’t hurt a fly.”

Police were investigating the murder.

I red some of your comments guys and I think we must come back to the point. A murder was committed. Yes, yes, I know there are "attachments and issues" that can be discussed, but I also know that a human live was taken. We need to look at our morals and standards. One can feel and argue differently, but one still act human. People!!!! We are losing our humanity. The right to call us human. The Camerons, Chads, rowers, etc., let us feel belonging somewhere and being worth something, but continuing these bad deeds does cancel out the new gained credit.

I am the son in law of Anette Knoetze. My mother in law was the last person to deserve a death like this! When is enough enough? How many more must die? I have no doubt the police are doing their outmost and when they catch him what then? Living in a prison of our tax money?? Enough is Enough and I wish by God I can make an example of these men.I promise that a potential murderer will think twice before commiting such an act of cruelty! SVEN SCHULZ NAMIBIA

Six months in jail on our taxmoney before he goes out and does the same to another family? One always reads of these people but let me tell you it can happen to your wife, your mother, your daughter, your child!!When is enough enough? I hope in GODS Name that they turn that scum over to me personally and I will promise SOUTH AFRICA any potential murderer will think twice before commiting the act of murder! I wonder sometimes if the Justices of this country who aboloshed the Death penalty also face such situations as ours and what will they do in such a case??When is enough enough? This is a systematic targeting of old people, people that cannot defend themselves! By GOD give this man to me that these bastards can see how a murderer should be treated!!!!!!
