Pretoria man appears for bestiality

Johannesburg - A man appeared in the Ga-Rankuwa Magistrate's Court on Thursday in connection with the rape of a donkey, Gauteng police said.

The matter was postponed to November 7 and the 27-year-old man remained in custody, Warrant Officer Mathews Nkoadi said.

Nkoadi said police acted on a tip-off and arrested the man around 08:00 on Wednesday in Ga-Rankuwa, north of Pretoria.

A passer-by called the police, apparently after catching the man in the act.

When the police arrived, the alleged abuser ran away and caught a passing minibus taxi.

Police flagged down the vehicle and arrested him, Nkoadi said.
