Pretoria - The Hoërskool Oos Moot in Pretoria is seeking legal advice after banners calling for the principal to be sacked were attached to two vehicles parked outside the school gate.

"It is with our lawyers, we cannot comment at this stage," a staff member told News24 on Friday.

The Pretoria Rekord Moot reported that disgruntled parent Roelf van der Merwe's first protest was outside the school on October 2.

The banners are printed in big red letters and read: "OOS MOOT Fire the principal that did nothing to stop bullying."

He placed the banner on vehicles outside the school on Thursday again.

Van der Merwe told Rekord that his stepdaughter, who is a pupil at the school, was the victim of bullying seven months ago.

He approached the principal, who reportedly told him he should rather take his stepdaughter out of the school.

Van der Merwe said he disagreed and told the principal he was going to protest.

The school's governing body reportedly said the matter was being investigated and that it had told Van der Merwe to make a submission.
