Durban - A Durban school principal has been stabbed to death and another man hacked to death in two separate incidents in Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Monday.
Captain Khephu Ndlovu said both incidents took place on Sunday in V Section, Umlazi but the cases had not been linked.
The principal, Thamsanqa Ngcobo, 54, was stabbed in the shoulder and the stomach. His body was found lying by the roadside.
"We suspect the motive was robbery but no arrests have been made yet," said Ndlovu.
Ngcobo was the principal of Zwelihle High School in U Section, Umlazi.
In a separate incident, a few roads away, a 40-year-old man was found hacked to death.
"He had been stabbed and hacked to death with an unknown instrument," said Ndlovu.
The deceased's shack was also burnt down. Police said no arrests had been made.
