Protesters 'burst in' to UFS campus
News24 and Sapa
Cape Town - An illegal protest was staged in front of the main building at the University of the Free State’s Bloemfontein campus on Wednesday.
However, Sapa reported the SA Students Congress’s Manyene Lesapo as saying that it was students who were protesting.
The group was apparently demanding the removal of rector Jonathan Jansen.
"He has burned political structures on campus," said Lesapo, the chairperson of Sasco.

Lesapo said they were unhappy with the upcoming SRC election that was due to take place at the end of the month. He said there was no political activity allowed on campus.
This year candidates for the SRC will go through a selection process and they would stand alone for a position on the SRC. These candidates are allowed no backing from political formations.
The UFS posted details of the illegal march on its Facebook page.
Students gathered in front of the main building and emptied rubbish bins.
Police and security were on the scene.
By 13:40, the crowd began dispersing.
