East London - The swearing in of councillors of the Mbizana municipality, in the Eastern Cape, has been postponed following protests over candidate lists, SABC radio news reported on Wednesday.
Last week, residents blockaded the entrance to the municipality's office.
It was reported that ANC members were protesting against the ward councillors elected on May 18.
SABC reported that the swearing in of the councillors had been postponed until Friday because of security concerns and the unavailability of Independent Electoral Commission staff.
