Psychic 'sees' extortionist

Cape Town - A Cape psychic says she has "a good idea of the identity of the Pick 'n Pay poisoner", Cape Argus reports.

Gypsy Niyan, of Strand, said: "My initial feeling is that he is medium-dark in colouring, so he is not fair or blonde, He is swarthy-looking, stocky and foreign-looking. He might be a South Africa citizen, but is of foreign extraction. He is someone with a way out to a foreign country if he needs to run."

Niyan believes his motives were not only money, but "some kind of a revenge thing".

Niyan said she had phoned Pick 'n Pay a couple of times, about no one has come to see her yet.

She said she could give them some very accurate answers - a place, a suburb or his initials, but only if I spend an hour concentrating in the company of someone working on the case.

Niyan in 1995 assisted the police in an unofficial capacity in the investigation of the station strangler serial killer case in Cape Town, as well as the River Strangler serial killer case in Durban.

Pick 'n Pay CEO Sean Summers said: "We have had numerous people who contact us who profess to be psychics and we've directed all of them to the police.

The retailer has hired the services of a top risk and crisis management consultancy, based in Europe, which is assisting police.

Volksblad reported on Thursday that two Bloemfontein women on Sunday allegedly spotted an "Oriental" man who acted very suspiciously when he suddenly started talking excitedly on his cellphone, referring to newspaper headlines.

They described the man a "neat, dark man with short hair, a slight beard and glasses".

Sunday's headlines focused on the R5m reward that Pick 'n Pay is offering for information on the extortionist.

Senior Superintendent Selby Bokaba on Thursday said all leads would be followed up, despite his initial response when told about the possible spotting.

Kim says... Zuma, if it was not for the media and the public your ministers would get away with Billions. Clean up your house before you start making statments like this. You make yourself look a complete idiot. Your own justice system is corrupt. So keep on fighting corruption and point that finger back at yourself. Read the article...
