Pretoria - Rolf Dieter Meier appeared in the Pretoria District Court on Tuesday in connection with the murder of his wife, 42-year-old Alisan Jean Meier.
Meier, 28, was arrested on Friday last week, two days after the couple was reported missing by family members.
Police found him at their Villieria home inside a limousine, packed with household appliances. They found his wife's body under a bed, wrapped in a duvet.
According to police she was hit with a blunt object.
A 23-year-old Tanzanian is also being held in connection with her death. He was arrested on Saturday in a flat in Pretoria Central.
The Meier couple was reported missing last week Wednesday, after family and a domestic worker found blood in one of the bedrooms.
Police circulated the couple's picture to the media. Their missing vehicle was found in Church Street, Arcadia, but the driver apparently ran away.
Police spokesperson Percy Morokane said on Friday that police had gone to the house as part of the investigation when Meier was found.
Meier appeared in court on Tuesday, dressed in a suit with his hair in a ponytail.
The case was postponed to April 20 for further investigation.
Meier will remain in custody at the Pretoria Moot police station, while the Tanzanian will be kept at the Villieria police station.
