Public warned of navy scam

2012-06-22 22:34

Cape Town - The military has warned of a scam in the Western Cape where people are being charged for SA Navy job application forms.

Anyone wishing to join the navy does not need to pay for application forms, the SA National Defence Force said on Friday.

Spokesperson Siphiwe Dlamini said a person was recently arrested in Nyanga for charging about R1 500 for the forms.

The police were not immediately available for further information.

      Oom - 2012-06-23 11:33

Our Navy, like the rest of our defence force is just a big fat joke. There is no more pride of position rank nor regiment. It's so sad that those once fine regiments, bands and units of the various forces are gone forever. The traditions, now referred to as "colonial" are the very fibre that kept the whole thing together. What a pity that members now use the force to scam people even before they have joined the circus...what a pity..!
