Johannesburg - A teenager who allegedly stabbed a fellow pupil at school will appear in the George Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, police said.
The 15-year-old allegedly stabbed his 16-year-old schoolmate twice with a pair of scissors during an argument at school, Captain Malcolm Pojie said on Monday.
The injured PW Botha College pupil was admitted to a local hospital after the stabbing on Thursday and was discharged a few hours later.
"The injured boy apparently made a racial slur that led to an argument between the two of them. At this stage I cannot reveal further details," Pojie said.
The teenager was arrested on Friday and was charged with assault. He was released into the custody of his parents.
