Pupils injured in taxi accident

Johannesburg - Four pupils have been critically injured in an accident in Ebony Park, Midrand, Netcare 911 said on Friday.

Spokesperson Jeffrey Wicks said the four, aged between 12 and 14, were thrown out of their vehicle when it overturned after being hit by a taxi.

One of the children had to be airlifted to the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital. The others were taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

Wicks said a pedestrian was injured when the vehicle hit him as it was rolling. He sustained minor injuries and was treated on the scene.
