Bushbuckridge - Two men ended up in hospital on Monday after three people tried to jump a queue at an ATM machine at a shopping complex in Thulamahashe.
Moses Hlatshwayo, 21, of Agincourt and Try Khumalo, 21, of MP Stream village were beaten with wheel spanners when they challenged three men who jumped a queue at the Thulamahashe shopping complex in Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga, on Monday.
The suspects had arrived in a white Toyota Corolla with Gauteng number plates and went to the Standard Bank ATM to withdraw cash, said spokesperson of Thulamahashe police Constable Robert Makhubela.
"When they tried to jump ahead of the two victims, a heated argument broke out. The suspects left and returned with two wheel spanners," said Makhubela.
Hlatshwayo and Khumalo were beaten all over their bodies.
Security guards called the police, but the suspects fled and are still at large.
Hlatshwayo and Khumalo are recovering at Mapulaneng hospital.
