Cape Town - A Milnerton man, Roy Mingfa Chou Ling, 65, has appeared in Goodwood magistrate's court on a charge of illegal dealing in uncut diamonds.
This follows the disappearance of an uncut yellow diamond worth R10m.
Police spokesperson Eugene Sitzer said on Tuesday the man was arrested in Kimberley at the weekend in connection with the disappearance of a diamond weighing 116 carats.
The diamond, a collector's item, was stolen from a Port Elizabeth diamond dealer at Grand West Casino in March this year.
If cut, the diamond will lose up to 60% of its value.
The case has been postponed to August 24.
Anyone with information regarding the diamond is requested to contact the investigating officer, Detective Inspector Wouter Muller on 082-781-8317.
