R200 for hand-written liquor licence

Johannesburg - Two people accused of fraudulently issuing a liquor licence have appeared in the Lehurutshe Magistrate's Court, in Lerato, North West police say.
Penny Ndona, 44, and Petrus Molatlhegi, 47, both employees of the Liquor Board, were each granted bail of R1 000 and the case was postponed until July 2, said spokesperson Kelebogile Moiloa on Friday.
She said they allegedly issued a fake, hand-written liquor licence to a Sandton tavern.
"The licence number they used belonged to a Barcelos restaurant, in Rustenburg."
Moiloa said Ndona, who was an employee of the Liquor Board in Mafikeng, allegedly issued a cash receipt of R200 for the fake licence.
Molatlhegi was a consultant at the Liquor Board.
She said the licence was issued without a police inspection or a recommendation.
