Rape-accused doctor gets bail

2011-10-17 22:46
Polokwane - A Limpopo medical doctor accused of raping a patient at a private surgery outside Thohoyandou in Limpopo was released on bail on Monday.

Justice Mulaudzi, 40, was released on R30 000 bail in the Thohoyandou Magistrate's Court.

Mulaudzi has been suspended as the superintendent of Hayani hospital since the rape charge was levelled against him.

Police said the rape victim rushed to the trauma centre after she suffered alleged rape at Mulaudzi's consulting room.

Five years ago, Mulaudzi faced similar charge at Malamulele Magistrate's Court but the case was allegedly withdrawn due to lack of evidence.

He will appear in court again on December 8.
